Unique Things to Include in Your Wedding!

Everyone dreams that their wedding will stand out and be interesting. If you are one those people, then this article is for you. Even if you are not, stick around because you might gain a few ideas you like. Some of these things we have seen personally and love; others we haven't seen but thought they would be a good way to switch things up.

We are only giving ideas, so you do not have to follow this word for word, but it may spark the creative side of your mind to branch off. All in all, your wedding is going to be unique no matter what, because it is YOURS.

POV app

Disposable cameras can be pricey, not only the initial purchase, but also the expense of getting the film developed. Let me show you a cheaper alternative that is more fitting for our technological age. This app allows you to create an event (your wedding) with QR codes and print them off for guests to scan. Once they scan, they get a set number of pictures they can take on the app that all get sent to one album.

The cost to run one event is about the cost to buy and develop one disposable camera. This also engages your guests to take pictures because there are a lot of moments that get lost because the photographer cannot be everywhere at once. We highly recommend this app for weddings!

Witness Roulette

What on earth is witness roulette? This idea was brought to us by one of our couples, April and Alex. We had no clue what they meant at first, but as we learned more, this was such a cool idea.

Everyone that RSVP's for the wedding enters their name into the roulette. Their names get placed into a bowl, jar, or whatever you want you want to use. The bride and groom get to draw a name and those people sign the marriage certificate.

Do what you want with this information. Also, do your own research to find out what you need to do beforehand legally. It was one of the most unique things we have seen during a ceremony.

Ring Warming

This is another thing that was brought to us by April and Alex. This happens during the ceremony where the rings are passed around to each guest. They used an acrylic box to hold the rings as they were passed around.

This allows each guest to say a prayer over rings or just to give them some good energy. It is also a good way for every guest to see the rings up close without overcrowding the couple. Again, do your research and find a way you can do it that fits your personality best.

Voicemails

There are some companies that make phones specifically for this that I would recommend rather than trying it yourself. This is a good replacement or add-on to your guest book. It looks like an old school telephone where guests can leave you voice messages that you can listen to down the road. There is just something different about a voice message compared to just text on paper.

Bridal Party Entrance Competition

No, I am not saying a typical bridal party entrance where they do something everyone has seen a million times. If this is how you want to do it, I am not deterring you. Recently, at a wedding, there was a competition. This really raised the bar for the entrances.

The Bride and Groom entered first to be judges for the rest of the bridal party. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen at a wedding. As each set of bridesmaid and groomsman came through, their entrances got more and more elaborate. It was a great way to start off the reception and there was a small prize for the winners.

Signature Cocktails or Drinks

This one is little more common, but the drinks are always unique. This is a good way to put more personality into the reception. You can think of fun names for them that fit you two as a couple. We have also seen custom cocktails named after their animals which was also very adorable.

Table or Yard Games

Use what space you have available to you. At weddings, you often get a good many people that are unfamiliar with each other. Cocktail hour is typically where the mingling begins. A great way to spark a conversation or keep people focused is to add some small table games or larger yard games depending on what space you have available to you.

Relationship Album

This is great for everyone, from close family to plus ones. It is a great way to tell your story. The longer you two knew each other before getting married the better for this one. You would tell your story through pictures and paragraphs through the years. You'll give people a better understanding of you two as a couple through storytelling. Don't be afraid to not fill the album, there's plenty of time after marriage for that.

Do what you want with these ideas. If you take one and alter it, we would love to see your take on it. There are so many things that you can include at your wedding that make is special, so whatever you do, or don't do, there's no doubt your wedding will be unique!
